Our restoration process combines traditional craftsmanship with modern technologies, maintaining the integrity of the original design while incorporating contemporary elements for comfort and functionality. We source high-quality materials, respecting the authenticity and charm of the era in which the structure was built.
A major project was the design, supply and fit of 130 sliding sash windows to a Grade 2 listed building on the LLWR estate working for Mitie.
As with all our heritage work we work closely with the local planning authorities to gain planning permissions and consents to work on buildings of significant importance to our countries heritage.
A Brief History
William King Construction was founded in 2008 by William and Lisa King. Having worked across the UK for a wide range of developers and main contractors, William was driven by the belief that construction could be delivered with greater care, higher standards, and a more considered approach to quality.
From the outset, Lisa stepped away from a successful career in retail management to establish a strong operational and financial backbone for the business. This early focus on structure, systems, and accountability created a solid foundation that continues to underpin the company today.
The business initially focused on delivering high-quality residential projects, including a number of award-winning luxury homes across the North West of England. As the company’s reputation for quality, reliability, and technical competence grew, opportunities expanded into more complex and regulated environments.
Over time, William King Construction developed the capability to operate within large-scale, multi-disciplinary teams, delivering both residential projects and technically demanding civil and maintenance works. This progression naturally led to long-term involvement in the nuclear sector, where the company now supports high-standard, safety-critical environments requiring absolute precision, compliance, and consistency.
Today, William King Construction continues to balance bespoke, quality-led construction with specialist civil and nuclear-related works across Cumbria — maintaining the same principles of craftsmanship, integrity, and professionalism on which the business was founded.
