William King Construction was founded in 2008 by William and Lisa King. William had spent years working across the UK for a wide range of developers and main contractors, and he came away from that experience with a clear conviction. Construction could be delivered with greater care, higher standards and a more considered approach to quality. He wanted to build a business that proved it.
From the very beginning, Lisa brought the structure and rigour the business needed to grow on solid foundations. Stepping away from a successful career in retail management, she took on the operational and financial backbone of the company, building the systems and processes that continue to underpin everything we do today.
The early years were focused on delivering high-quality residential projects across the North West of England, including a number of award-winning luxury homes that established the company’s reputation for craftsmanship and attention to detail. That reputation opened doors to more complex and varied work, and the business grew steadily as a result.
Over time, William King Construction developed the capability to operate within large-scale, multi-disciplinary teams, taking on technically demanding civil and maintenance contracts alongside the residential work. That progression led naturally into the nuclear sector, where the company now operates as a long-standing contractor to Sellafield Ltd, delivering safety-critical works to the highest standards of compliance and precision.
